The Gašper wine estate is a joint venture between a local cooperative and the Carman family, who have been in the hospitality and wine business for over 50 years. All picking is done by cooperative partners, family members and friends, which allows for a careful selection of fruit that enhances the quality of the final wine.
Goriška Brda is blessed with a climate ideally suited to viticulture, with its proximity to both the Adriatic Sea and the Alps providing dry, warm summers with cooling breezes during the crucial ripening period which retain acidity and brings the aromatic. Their vineyard (situated at altitude from 80-200 above sea level) are between 10 and 30 years old and characterised by its ‘opoka’ marl soil and excellent sun exposure on its terraced, hillside rows.
Rebula was matured for two years in oak (one year in old French barrels and one year in large old Slavonian barrels). Yellow, straw-colored, with a shade of gold. A complex bouquet, with a fragrant hint of ripe citrus, dried fruit, cedar, buttered toast. Its softness and warmth are pleasantly combined with the creaminess. Long-lasting aftertaste. Mineral and very drinkable wine.Additional informations (PDF)
