Nyetimber have established themselves as England’s premier sparkling wine house, making world class wines to rival (and often beat in blind tastings) the big names of Champagne. A true pioneer, Nyetimber was the very first producer of English sparkling wine to craft wines made exclusively from the holy trinity of Champagne grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
Nyetimber are located in West Sussex and they use only grapes from its own vineyards. Key to Nyetimber’s success is the estate’s south-facing vineyards that lie on chalk or greensand soil, nestled across the South of England. Each vineyard was carefully selected to ensure the ideal conditions for the slow ripening of the grapes to give the optimum level of acidity and the complexity and finesse for which Nyetimber is renowned.
Few wineries in the world have dared to take on Champagne, but that’s exactly what owner and chief executive Eric Heerema and head winemaker Cherie Spriggs have done. Sunset-pink in the glass. Aromas include a charming mix of fresh red fruits and intriguing spice notes. The palate has a creamy, round texture balanced with refreshing redcurrant, raspberry and cherry flavours.
