Charles Heidsieck is one of the most awarded wines in the world thanks to the unrivalled high quality of its wines and with the most celebrated winemaking team in Champagne – awarded ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ fifteen times. Established in 1851 by the man who introduced Champagne to America and become known as ‘Champagne Charlie’.
Charles Heidsieck have built exceptional relationships with the most experienced growers across the Champagne region, and can draw on a rich palette of crus. Selection of grapes takes place from 60 specific sites. Fruit comes from 100% Grand & Premier Cru positions. Vineyards are Oger for Chardonnay for its texture, floral notes and ageing ability, Ambonnay for Pinot Noir for its power, vinosity and fruit.
After many years ageing in the unique and ancient Crayères acquired by its founder Charles Heidsieck, Brut Millésime reveals itself as a champagne poised between elegance and complexity, with a smooth texture and great length on the palate. Extended ageing on the lees has unlocked the full potential of their aromas. Each vintage has its own signature. Wines from 1989 generally have incredible ageing potential.

“This was recently tasted in jeroboam only. Deep golden colour. Rich honeyed nose with roast coffee, vanilla and fudge. Aged but perfectly healthily so. Concentrated, round velvety palate with still plenty of fruity length. Long, winey, firm finish. Such a pleasurable gastronomic wine today, the essence of Charles.”
