WHO?
Charles Heidsieck is one of the most awarded wines in the world, backed by one of the most famous winemaking teams in Champagne—chosen 15 times for the prestigious title of ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’. Founded in 1851 by a man who introduced Champagne to America and became known as ‘Champagne Charlie’.
WHERE?
The grapes are selected from 60 specific locations, but the majority come from the iconic Oger vineyard, where Chardonnay is renowned for its texture, floral component, and aging potential. Pinot Noir from Ambonnay provides strength, vinous character, and fruitiness, while Pinot Meunier from Verneuil rounds off the blend with acidity, body, and aromatics.
WHY?
There is no shortcut to quality. Undoubtedly the most prestigious NV Champagne on the market. 40% (the maximum allowed amount) of the total blend consists of reserve wines with an average age of 10 years, which are blended with base wine and further matured for a minimum of 5 years in their own cellars known as “crayeres” dating back to the 4th century.
