WHO?
Charles Heidsieck is one of the most decorated wines in the world, backed by one of the most famous winemaking teams in Champagne – chosen for the prestigious title of ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ 15 times. Established in 1851 by a man who introduced champagne to America and became known as ‘Champagne Charlie’.
WHERE?
The grapes are selected from 60 specific locations, but the majority comes from the iconic Oger vineyard, where Chardonnay is renowned for its texture, floral component, and aging ability. Pinot Noir from Ambonnay provides strength, vinous character, and fruitiness, while Pinot Meunier from Verneuil completes the composition with acidity, body, and aroma.
WHY?
There is no shortcut to quality. Undoubtedly, the most prestigious NV champagne on the market. 40% (the maximum allowed amount) of the total blend is reserved for reserve wines with an average age of 10 years, which are blended with the base wine and then matured for a minimum of 5 years in their own cellars called “crayères” dating back to the 4th century.
