WHO? Bellavista (meaning ‘beautiful view’ in Italian) was founded by Vittorio Moretti in the early 1970s. This estate produces the finest sparkling wines made by the traditional method in Italy from grapes grown in their own vineyards, reminiscent of a natural amphitheater. The glacial soil is rich in stones, providing an ideal medium for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the two mainstays of Franciacorta.
WHERE? Bellavista owns 190 hectares of vineyards within the protected wine-growing area of Franciacorta DOCG. The vineyards are ideally exposed and possess all the predispositions to express the full potential of this region. The wine expertise of Franciacorta is often titled as ‘the Italian Champagne’. For Satèn (100% Chardonnay), grapes come from older vineyards located on the southern slopes.
WHY? Satèn is the Italian version of the French term ‘blanc de blancs’ (white from white), made exclusively from white grape varieties (in this case, Chardonnay). Its layered bouquet exudes aromas of white flowers with notes of peach, citrus, honey, and hazelnuts. On the palate, it is creamy, with a refined presence where freshness and balance further emphasize the dedication to grape quality.
